TARC to provide extra service to Kentucky State Fair | Transportation
LOUISVILLE, KY - TARC once again is providing service to the Kentucky State Fair from downtown Louisville to the fairgrounds for the duration of the fair, which begins Thursday and lasts until Aug. 25
Buses will depart daily every 60-70 minutes from 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. from the stop in downtown Louisville at Fifth and Market streets, and then hourly until 11:30 p.m. The last bus from the fairgrounds to downtown Louisville leaves at 11:58 p.m. daily. Passengers should look for the buses displaying the destination sign reading, “2 - State Fair.”
Passengers will depart the bus at the TARC stop on Circle of Champions opposite Broadbent Arena. Passengers will board at this same bus stop. State Fair complimentary trams pick up and discharge passengers opposite the TARC stop for added convenience.
Additional TARC service near the fairgrounds is available on Crittenden Drive (Route 2) and Preston Highway (Route 18), but those buses will not enter the fairgrounds.
Regular TARC fares apply on all trips. A one-way adult trip costs $1.75, students ages 6-17 and seniors with a TARC ID can ride for 80 cents and children 5 and under are free.
TARC trips do not include admission to the fair, which is collected before the bus enters the fairgrounds. Passengers are urged to have their admission ready prior to entering the fairgrounds.
