Intersection improvements to begin on Taylorsville Road | Transportation
LOUISVILLE, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) recently awarded a contract for improvements to the intersection of KY 155 (Taylorsville Road) and Old Heady Road in Jefferson County. Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 17 on this project which includes building turning lanes on KY 155 and on Old Heady Road.
This project also includes installation of a traffic signal at this intersection.
Daytime lane closures are possible during construction and traffic will be flagged through the work zone.
A part of this work, Old Heady Road will be closed on Thursday evening, June 20 for water main installation. The roadway will be closed from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Friday morning. Motorists will be detoured via Easum Road and Chenoweth Run Road.
In addition, Old Heady Road will be closed for a two week period beginning in mid-July. More information will be provided when the starting date for this closure is determined.
Mac Construction and Excavating was awarded the contract for this project in the amount of $520,401. The contract completion date is August 23, 2013.
