LOUISVILLE, KY – The Home Builders Association of Louisville’s Sales and Marketing Council recently presented the 27th Annual Sales and Marketing Council Awards for outstanding achievement in new homes and lot sales in 2012. Awards were also given for sensational advertising and marketing techniques. The Sales and Marketing Council annually recognizes top achievements of both individuals and companies for their work in the residential building industry.

Crisis Phase of Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program begins Jan. 7

LOUISVILLE, KY -- The annual program that helps prevent disconnection from utility services for low income residents of Louisville begins Mon., Jan. 7, 2013. LIHEAP, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, is operated by the Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership (CAP). The Crisis Phase of LIHEAP will run from January 7 through March 31 or as long as available funds last.

Residents wishing to apply must have an appointment. Appointments can begin being scheduled, in person only, Jan. 2 and 3 between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Central CAP Office located at the Urban Government Center, 810 Barret Ave, and at the same location on Jan. 4 between 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Louisville returns to the NAHB/First American Improving Markets Index this month

LOUISVILLE, KY - Louisville returns to the NAHB/First American Improving Markets Index (IMI) in November 2012. It is one of 125 markets to make the list, which includes representatives from 38 states including the District of Columbia. The index identifies metropolitan areas that have shown improvement from their respective troughs in housing permits, employment and house prices for at least six consecutive months. Louisville first was placed on the IMI in March of this year and fell off in May.

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Children’s Hospital Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Kosair Children’s Hospital, is raffling off a chance to win a newly built, newly construted house.

The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home in Norton Commons is valued at approximately $300,000. The home was constructed by Norton Commons in conjunction with support from suppliers and subcontractors. Only 8,000 raffle tickets will be sold at a value of $100 each.
