LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Juvenile cases have historically been sealed, but a district court judge ordered all video and documents in the Savannah Dietrich case to be released.
On Friday, August 31, the judge said Dietrich cannot seek to remove a prosecutor over claims that he showed bias and failed to consult her over a plea agreement. The teens pleaded guilty in late June to the attack that occurred in August 2011. The case initially gained public attention when Dietrich turned to Twitter to show frustration with the plea deal.
WAVE 3 does not generally identify victims of sexual assault, but Dietrich and her parents wanted her story to be made public.
