LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Mayor Greg Fischer's Healthy Hometown Movement took another step in the right direction Monday.
A new Mayor's Mile was unveiled near Jewish Hospital. The mile covers Chestnut, Floyd, Liberty and Brook Streets.
Ground markers and pole signs designate every one-tenth of a mile to help walkers and runners keep track of their distance.
Mayor Fischer said he hope to encourage citizens to adopt a healthier and more physical lifestyle, "Helping our citizens make healthy choices is part of what we do with the Mayor's Healthy Hometown Movement. It's all about creating these options because there's a lot of different ways for people to get out."
