LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A charity wanted to make sure you know they are around other that just Christmas time.
The Salvation Army wanted to build support and spread awareness outside of the holiday season, so the group hosted a Christmas in July gathering on Friday.
“People tend to know a lot about our Christmas work and that’s very public,” said Michael Hawley with the Salvation Army. “We ring bells and they see that, but they don’t know that there is other things that we do all the time in the community and we are very glad to be able to highlight some of that.”
There are several other events scheduled, including bell ringing at Jefferson Mall on July 7, The Salvation Army Tea on July 28, and the Garden of Home that runs all month long.
