First Annual Mother’s Day Brunch Celebration at The Muhammad Ali Center | Families
From Jeanie Kahnke
LOUISVILLE, Ky - With Mother's Day approaching, it is time to make reservations before the Derby Festival begins. On Sunday, May 12th, the Muhammad Ali Center and Jarfi’s Catering are presenting the First Annual Mother’s Day Brunch Celebration at the Muhammad Ali Center. Chef Jarfi will serve up a delectable, but healthy, buffet that will appeal to Moms and entire families. Seatings are available at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. The price for adults is $35 per person, $17.50 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. A 10% discount is available for Ali Center members.
The brunch buffet will take place in the Center’s View Pointe Hall, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that provide breathtaking panoramic views of the Ohio River, the Belvedere and downtown Louisville. In addition to the appealing ambiance, reservations include access to the Ali Center's three levels of award-winning exhibits. The Jerry Tolson Trio, a dynamic jazz group, will provide entertainment to enhance the atmosphere and make Mom’s day even more memorable.
Chef Jarfi, who has been a preferred caterer of the Ali Center since its opening in 2005, said, “This is a winning partnership for Jarfi’s Catering and the Ali Center. For a long time I have envisioned this Mother’s Day Brunch coming to fruition at the Ali Center. Similarly so, I have been planning an enticing buffet menu that will make any mother feel pampered.”
“Muhammad Ali was very close to his own Mother, whom he lovingly called, ‘Bird,’” said Jeanie Kahnke, spokesperson for the Muhammad Ali Center. “In honor of Odessa Grady Clay and mothers everywhere, we are thrilled to be able to offer for the first time a special Mother’s Day experience that includes Chef Jarfi’s inventive and mouth-watering buffet, and the opportunity for families to tour our exhibits and learn about how Muhammad’s mother helped shape his own iconic life.”
Reservations for the Mother’s Day Brunch are open until May 7th and can be made online at alicenter.org or by calling 502.992.5305. Those interested are encouraged to make reservations early as there is limited seating available.
The Muhammad Ali Center is located at 144 N. Sixth Street in downtown Louisville. Parking is available on side streets or in the PARC garage located below the Ali Center.
