Louisville Zoo Announces ZooTember Events Presented by McDonald’s | Events

September is “ZooTember” at the Louisville Zoo, presented by McDonald’s. Upcoming events include:

-September 1 and 2

Storybook Character Days, Featuring Larry and Bob from Veggie Tales from Noon - 4 p.m.

Imagination comes to life when children of all ages meet some of their favorite storybook characters throughout the Zoo. Special guests Larry and Bob from Veggie Tales will be on hand. Other characters include Clifford, Curious George, the Man in the Yellow Hat, Llama Llama and Lyle Lyle Crocodile. Free with Zoo admission and with Zoo Membership.

September 7

McDonald’s Movie Night Featuring: "Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom." Field opens at 6 p.m., music and games start at 6:30 p.m., movie begins at sundown.

Enjoy a fun family movie under the stars at the Zoo!  Special $5 Zoo admission after 5 p.m. includes pre-movie activities, games and Zoo exhibits open until dusk. Be sure to bring your blankets and lawn chairs; snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Free with Zoo admission and with Zoo Membership.

Toyota Backyard Action Hero Day. Receive your free copy of the Zoo’s Toyota Backyard Action Hero Guidebook - full of fun facts, awesome animal pictures and cool experiments.

S.O.S (Save Our Species Walk)

The Louisville Zoo and Friends of the Zoo announce their collaboration on a new pledge walk to support endangered species. Participants will enjoy a walk through the Zoo with  special up-close encounters with animal ambassadors, free carousel rides, post-walk fun including music by WAMZ, door prizes, special treats and a hit movie at sundown.
