Volunteers work to cleanup vacant homes
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – As the kids get ready to go back to school, volunteers are working to cleanup vacant and abandoned homes and properties around Louisville schools.
Saturday dozens helped with the Rebuilding our Blocks initiative around Byck and Wheatley Elementary Schools. They mowed, trimmed, picked up trash, and replaced boarded up doorways and windows with painted boards.
Rebuilding our Blocks grew out of the mayor’s Give a Day program.
If you missed the event Saturday and would like to help out, another is planned for September 15.
