New distillery opens in Louisville | Business

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The first new distillery in Louisville since pre-prohibition has opened its doors in downtown Louisville.

Located on South 8th Street, the Distilled Spirits Epicenter is not a traditional distillery. The new company will help businesses create their own spirits and provide courses for people who are just interested in learning the distilling process.

“For distillers or would be distillers that want to come in and learn how to get into the industry,” said Kevin Hall, Distilled Spirits Epicenter. “It will be a week-long class. Then we will have that we’re calling, for lack of a better term, an enthusiast class. It would be somebody who wants to come in and spend a couple of hours.”

Master distillers from around the region will help teach the classes.
