Everyone is invited to welcome back the historic “Louisville Clock” to downtown at the “Rock Around the Louisville Clock” celebration on Friday, August 24th, from 5 to 7 pm.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Louisville’s own “CARIBOU” during this event. Mayor Greg Fischer will start the festivities with a ceremony at 5 pm.
“Rock Around the Louisville Clock” is sponsored by Commonwealth Bank and the Theater Square business district. Promotional support provided by WAKY radio FM 103.5
The “Louisville Clock” is a kinetic sculpture created by artist Barney Bright in 1976. It features historical figurines that ‘race’ at 12 Noon, 3 pm, and 6 pm. It has undergone extensive renovation over the pat few years. It was relocated to Theater Square earlier this year.
